A Two-Bride Wedding at Hacienda Los Arcángeles, San Miguel de Allende
Two brides, both in white, and a hacienda in San Miguel de Allende made for celebrating.
Fer and Mon got married in the warmest light in Mexico. At a colonial hacienda in San Miguel de Allende, among cantera stone arches, a stone fountain and golden gardens, we lived one of the happiest celebrations we have ever photographed. One single day to remember for a lifetime.
Getting ready
The morning came in through the tall windows while each of them got ready on her own. A lace dress, a bouquet resting on an antique mirror, the shoes, the perfume. That calm from before, the one that always arrives right ahead of a very loud joy.
The first look
They met at the front gate of the hacienda and from there they walked the stone porticos and the gardens. The architecture of San Miguel de Allende does half the work on its own; the rest came from the way the two of them look at each other.
The ceremony
Among huge paper flowers and the people they love most came the vows, the rings and a sand ceremony. There were good tears and a first kiss that was felt in every seat. Afterward, a few minutes just for the two of them under the veil.
Walking in under colored smoke
And then the moment the whole day had been building toward. The brides walked into the party under a burst of colored smoke, along an aisle of giant flowers. Pure joy, the kind you can see. The perfect close for a love story that asks no one for permission.
The party
Portraits at golden hour, a first dance that spun across the grass, confetti, the DJ booth taken over, and a dance floor that stayed full into the night. One of those parties you don’t want to end.
Fer and Mon, thank you for letting us document a love this bright.
