Destination wedding of Leslie and Chava in Guanajuato, Mexico

Leslie & Chava’s Destination Wedding in Guanajuato City

Guanajuato has an essence that is impossible to replicate. Its streets full of history, the colonial architecture, the alleyways and that romantic atmosphere make it one of the most special places for a destination wedding in Mexico.

And Leslie and Chava’s wedding was the perfect example of that: a sophisticated, elegant and deeply emotional celebration that brought together design, fashion and a whole lot of personality in some of the most iconic corners of the city.

Getting ready at Casa del Rector

The day started at Hotel Casa del Rector, where Leslie and Chava got ready surrounded by the people closest to them. The hotel’s architecture, its interiors and the natural light were the perfect setting to document every moment in an intimate, cinematic way.

The dress and the suit

One of the most impressive details of the whole wedding was, without a doubt, Leslie’s dress. Designed by Ianndey, the label of Iván and David, it combined sophistication, fashion and a whole lot of personality. You could tell there was love behind every detail, especially knowing that Leslie is Iván’s sister. The result was a spectacular dress, elegant and completely timeless.

Chava’s suit was designed by Gilberto Brizuela, of Sereno del Sordo, with a sophisticated look perfectly aligned with the aesthetic of the whole celebration.

The ceremony at the Basílica Colegiata

The religious ceremony took place at the Basílica Colegiata de Nuestra Señora de Guanajuato, one of the most emblematic places in the city.

Seeing Leslie walk toward the altar, surrounded by that historic architecture and by the emotion of all her guests, was one of those moments that simply feel huge.

The party at Museo Gene Byron

After the ceremony, the celebration continued at Museo Gene Byron, a venue full of personality, art and unique corners that made everything feel intimate and sophisticated at the same time.

The all-black dress code pushed the aesthetic of the wedding even further. Everything felt elegant, modern and cared for down to the last detail.

The planning was handled by Barraco, who coordinated a flawless experience from start to finish, taking care of both the logistics and the emotional atmosphere of every moment.

Guanajuato, the best setting for their story

As a destination wedding photographer in Guanajuato, one of the things I enjoy most is that every space in the city has a personality of its own. From boutique hotels and colonial streets to historic places and venues full of art like Museo Gene Byron, everything offers incredible settings to create authentic, elegant and timeless photographs.

But beyond all the details, what really made this wedding special was Leslie and Chava’s energy. The way they looked at each other, how they enjoyed every moment and that natural connection between them made everything flow incredibly well throughout the day.

My approach has always been to document weddings in an honest and emotional way, mixing real moments with an editorial and cinematic aesthetic. Weddings like this one are exactly why I love photographing stories all over Mexico so much.

Leslie and Chava, thank you for trusting me to document one of the most important days of your lives. It was an honor to tell your story.
