Cathy & Trevor’s Destination Wedding at Acre Resort, Los Cabos
Cathy and Trevor chose Los Cabos to get married, and not just for the ocean. They wanted a weekend where their people had a great time, with everything feeling real and relaxed, nothing stiff. Photographing a destination wedding like this one, at a place like Acre Resort, is one of my favorite things: nature everywhere, really good light, and a couple who just went with it.
Getting ready at Garza Blanca
The morning started at Garza Blanca. Cathy got ready surrounded by the people she loves most, with a lot of laughing and those good nerves you get when you know what is coming. On the other side, Trevor was hanging out with family and friends, waiting for the moment he would see her arrive.
The first look
Before the ceremony we did a first look, that moment when they see each other for the first time calmly, with no audience, just the two of them. That is where the nerves let go and the best reactions come out, the real ones.
The ceremony among the palm trees
Acre Resort is all green: palm trees, tropical plants and paths that open up through the jungle. The perfect setting for an intimate ceremony. Between that nature and the relaxed feel of Los Cabos, everything felt elegant and still warm.
A moment for the two of them
We slipped away for a while with Cathy and Trevor to take their portraits. No rush, letting them be themselves. Those photos, the ones of the couple alone, almost always end up being the ones they like the most.
The reception under the lights
As the evening came, the party got going. A reception under the lights, in the middle of all that greenery, with every detail thought out to reflect who they are. From the most emotional moments to the energy on the dance floor, it was all joy and celebration.
The details and the party
I like to keep the details too: the table, the flowers, the lights, all the things the couple took such care with and that make a wedding feel like theirs. And of course the dance floor, where nobody sat down that night.
It was an honor to document Cathy and Trevor’s story and to keep the memories of such a beautiful destination wedding in Los Cabos for them. Thank you for letting me be part of it.
